What are you drinking?
What if I told you that God had Himself in mind when He created you? Discovering the mind of God when He created mankind, helps us to identify the unique characteristics impressed upon us – characteristics like: superior intelligence and rationale, resilience and the ability to evolve, creative ability, and nobility. Great conflict catapults us into greater character development. How we respond to the circumstances that seem to back us into a powerless corner and deny us the freedom to thrive, will reveal the character traits that we embody.
The first discovery you will enjoy in Thirsty Soul is how God first took the time to create and complete us in His mind and then later formed us with traits that reflect only His image. Since He has fully created mankind’s evolution from beginning to end, and since we continue to exist – it is safe to say that each day He is still forming. We are a finished work in the mind of God, but the visible and tangible manifestation of that work continues to be formed each day. But, it’s just as important to know what we are made of and how we are designed, as it is to know who He made us to be. When you feel you are carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders, it’s not enough for me to tell you that “You are strong, you can make it” if you don’t understand your capacity for endurance. You need to understand why you are strong. When we discover the goal of our Creator during design, we are then able to discover (and appreciate) the resources we are made of. But excavating beneath the surface of our exterior image, is only the beginning.
When you feel thirsty, are you able to identify what you are truly thirsting for? What is the first thing you reach for? What wells are you reaching into? Is it acknowledgement, or acceptance, or maybe love and affection? When you get to that well and take a drink, are you satisfied? What many of us have experienced is that once we have a taste for something that appears to be inaccessible, we settle for what appears to readily available. Sadly, we settle for instant gratification, which in turn creates a greater thirst; most times only moments later – leaving us even more unfulfilled.
Thirsty Soul will help you to identify with the strength you embody and where it originated. You will inevitably begin to reflect on the life experiences that have brought you to this point. Re-evaluating all of your life decisions and wondering why you made them, you wonder, “How did I miss the red flags in those relationships? How did I end up on the wrong career path? What was I thinking?” This period of self-reflection is a life-altering stage. It’s the stage where mind, body, and soul all come into alignment; forcing you to accept that you have been attempting to fill your life’s greatest thirst with all the wrong things! You’ll realize it’s time to retrain your drinking habits. And that’s when the well of living water appears – deep down on the inside of you. This time your thirst will be quenched for real – if you can just believe.
