An amazing story of hope, resilience, and faith

Kimberly Michelle Ford, a Native of Atlanta Georgia, has committed her life to helping God’s people heal & recover from abuse and teaching them to maintain a life of freedom.  She gave her life to Christ at the very young age of 7. Tragically, just two years later, she was repeatedly raped by her babysitter's grandson. Life as a teenager would be painful and misguided for Kimberly as she grew to be troubled by the effects of her abuse.  As a result of the abuse she encountered, and in spite of her upbringing, Kimberly found herself as a teenager working in Atlanta’s adult night clubs. During this time, she also endured 6 years of domestic violence at the hand of her children’s father.

But God’s word still prevailed over her life. In 1999, after 4 years of working as an adult nightclub dancer, Kimberly renounced the life she lived in search of a greater calling to fulfill. Heeding the voice of the Holy Spirit, she re-dedicated her life to Christ and never looked back. She married and worked to build her career in telecommunications. She excitedly accepted whatever opportunity God presented in this new life. While working in the telecommunications industry, Kimberly still felt a desire to serve God’s hurting and displaced women by being a light in dark places. In 2007, Kimberly released her autobiography, “The Core: It’s All Inside.” In her first book, she ministers to men and women alike who have suffered from the effects of sexual abuse, domestic violence, homelessness, and absentee parents. She recognizes that these are issues that far too many of us have encountered.

In 2008, her life would take another turn. After a failed marriage, and being laid off from her career in telecommunications, Kimberly sought God for her higher purpose in life.  She used this as another opportunity serve God’s people. She shifted her corporate career to support her local outreach ministry and began pursuing her degree in Human Resource Management. Today, Kimberly Ford is a management professional in our nation’s staffing industry.

“Getting up is never easy. But it's required. I believe we were all created with everything we need to succeed. We each possess the fortitude to defy the odds, destroy the roadblocks, and be resurrected after every fall. I challenge you to believe that you've got what it takes to WIN!”

Kimberly also joined the Outreach department at her local church and became very active with the Safe House Outreach Center in Atlanta, Georgia. She developed such a heart of compassion for the homeless of Atlanta that after a few years of volunteering as a servant leader, she was appointed the Christian Shelter Team Leader.  As the descendant of 4 generations of pastors, in 2011, she was ordained the first licensed female minister in her family’s history. This was a monumental event in her life. She felt, “Finally my story and testimony would not be in vain.”  After licensing, Minister Kimberly Ford has ministered faithfully to homeless and domestic violence survivors in the metro Atlanta area. In her words, "100% of the homeless community are simply living life between dreams and like us one breakthrough away from greatness”. She exhibits a life of love, healing, and redemption through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

But her story did not end there. Kimberly Ford could no longer resist the call to promote awareness to one of our nation's largest illnesses. has committed her life to helping individuals heal and recover from trauma and abuse. She is committed to teaching survivors how to recover and maintain a life of freedom as a result of her own personal experience with sexual and domestic abuse. In 2017, she founded My FreedomSoul, LLC – an outreach ministry aimed to support childhood trauma and domestic violence recovery. Through published books, small groups, outreach events and public speaking, the faith-based ministry’s mission is to enrich the lives of survivors and victims’ families. Kimberly works to erase the negative stigma associated with speaking out by applauding and rewarding survivors who have exhibited the courage to LIVE. This “champion” is passionate about empowering survivors of personal trauma to recover their freedom and celebrating their victory. In her own words: “Being an advocate for others is not merely about helping them to get free. Yet, advocacy involves demonstrating how to stay free. This little light of mine – I’m gonna let it SHINE! So, I pray that my courage to walk in total freedom, inspires you to pursue freedom too!”
