PHENOMENAL WOMAN...THAT'S ME!

Last night, I had the pleasure of gracing the microphone again after 10 years of poetic silence. I am a poet at heart and truly loved to perform at different spoken word/open mic venues in the past.  But of course through many tears, trials, and opposing forces, I somehow lost the passion for something that was truly bringing me joy from within.

The bible tells us that we are created in the image of our Creator. That means we are all born with the spirit of creativity.  Imagine just how creative God is! If you stop to take a look around you, you realize that He had apart in every intricate detail of your life and the world around you. Nothing exists that was not given His stamp of approval: the ground, the buildings, the water we drink , the animals, the cars, the clothes we wear and even the very words, dialect, and languages spoken. He is a mastermind of creativity. And we are fashioned after that.

You are also a mastermind of creativity. But we lose the power when we get out of alignment with His plan for our lives; we lose balance. When we lose balance we tend to spend more energy on trying to make a thing work, than just allowing Gods perfect plan for our lives unfold. When we are out of alignment the things that He has in store for us cannot be attracted to us.

The law of attraction states that we attract what is in us. If confusion, stress, debt, doubt, and low self esteem is in us, that is what we will surely attract. Contrarily, if we are walking with an overflow of love, light, and peace of mind then we draw those very things, people, and opportunities to us that create love, light, and peace.

So last night at the little, Intimate Cafe, they passed around a booklet of poems, each person was to choose one to perform. I opened the booklet and the first thing I saw was  Maya Angelou's "Phenomenal Woman". My heart skipped a beat. I was truly in the right place, at the right time, in the right spirit. I was in balance. His power and creativity gleamed from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet. When I took the mic and began to recite, I felt the essence of my total being flowing in total sync with my Creator; God almighty Himself was pleased. So after all the applause, this woman full of faith, power, beauty, and love threw her head back and gracefully laughed aloud. Burdens were lifted, and all the hurts and pangs of life at that very moment lost their strength. Then I boldly stared back in the face of the enemy who had tried so hard to destroy me and declared, I'm BACK!!!! Phenomenal Woman... That's me! :-)
