LET THE MAN DRIVE
So you are on your first date with the guy who could potentially be Mr. Right....and being the lady that you are, leaving your house, you follow him to His car and wait for him to open the door. You never offer to drive. And why would you anyway? It is his place to lead the way right?
You have been married for 5 years now. It's Sunday morning and you are headed out for church. You are ready before he is, but you don't run out to the car, start it and wait in the driver's seat for him to get in. Instead, you wait for him to come downstairs, and take your time heading out of the house because He is obviously driving right?
Now, consider the fact that He is God. You may now be a now a single parent raising 2 children or you may be an independent woman who has made a great career for yourself , but you have a husband who is not quite as business savvy as you. In both of these scenarios it is very easy to find yourself grabbing the keys and starting the car in our daily situations because of course, you know best. But DIVAs, when God is the man that's clearly not the case.
When we get in the driver's seat of our lives what happens is we take away God's ability to bless us and manifest His perfect will for our lives. Many times this is because we think we know what is best or we simply just don't want to wait. Am I right here? (It's ok to raise your hands no one will know :-)
In my journey to becoming the ultimate me, I have found that as I embrace God's plan as it unfolds before my eyes, it becomes easier to let go of the person who others expected me to be. As the path is being paved, I grow from wrestling with failure to resting in the assurance that I am already who He made me to be. I don't have to "work at" becoming the person that the world wants to see, but I can simply rest and be who I am. I am learning to master that by giving God all the rights to cultivate a unique path just for me. I'll even get to see new faces, go to new places, and experience new reasons to celebrate. Once I master and become comfortable being in the passenger seat, while The Man is driving, then the environment around me will celebrate with me. Eyes haven't seen, and ears haven't heard, nor has it entered into the hearts of men what God intends to reveal.
Going through the fire is not an easy journey. Nor is it a desired path. But when others witness the golden glow of redemption, after we are freshly removed from the fire, only awe and amazement can be seen upon their faces. I can't say it has been painless; but I can say it has been an amazing and wonderful experience to watch Him create the life I have always wanted without any help from me. And I must say I love the way He drives!
Give it All to Him.
